PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar recently released his statement regarding the passing of Eduardo ‘Danding’ Cojuangco Jr.
This, as Eduardo ‘Danding’ Cojuangco Jr., the Chairman and the Chief Executive Officer of San Miguel Corporation, died due to cancer. He was 85 years old.
In a statement, Andanar said that the Presidential Communications Operations Office would like to extend their deepest condolences to Cojuangco’s family, friends, and loved ones.
He also said that Cojuangco was vital to the success of San Miguel Corporation as a conglomerate and its “pursuit of socioeconomic progress” for the country via its diversified corporate endeavors.
Andanar also said that Cojuangco enabled SMC to generate thousands of livelihood and employment opportunities as well as benefitting thousands of Filipino families.
Moreover, Andanar said that Cojuangco and San Miguel Corporation (SMC) had extended their assistance to vulnerable sectors and frontline personnel as well as to the government in reducing the impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
According to Andanar, Cojuangco’s death was not only “a loss of a patriarch” to his family, loved ones, and San Miguel Corporation, but also “a loss of a philanthropist” to the people and a reliable partner of the government in economic development and poverty alleviation.
Aside from Andanar, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles also released his statement regarding the passing of Eduardo ‘Danding’ Cojuangco Jr.

Eduardo ‘Danding’ Cojuangco Jr. was the Chairman and the Chief Executive Officer of San Miguel Corporation. He was ranked 16 in Forbes’ Philippines 50 Richest Net Worth because of his estimated net worth of USD 1.5 billion.
According to Forbes, his real-time net worth was USD 1.1 billion as of June 17.
