A Netizen called the attention of Globe Telecom because of this.
A certain netizen called the attention of Globe Telecom regarding a report wherein reporters in Pag-asa Island “Welcome to China” texts from Globe.
This, after Globe Telecom denied the report wherein the company allegedly sent “Welcome to China” texts to reporters in Pag-asa Island saying that the said post was “not true” and “created a malicious intent” against the company and its employees. Also, Globe Telecom, in its comment posted on Keneth Quinto’s now-viral post, said that the said post had been reported to Facebook as “fake”, urging the public not to share the said post.
However, Globe Telecom admitted that the Pag-asa Island was an area that was reachable by signal from other countries such as China and Vietnam, adding that the reporters’ devices latched on to China Mobile — which was a roaming partner of Globe — and roaming was “an automatic feature for postpaid”.
Netizen to Globe Telecom
A netizen named Keneth Quinto posted on his Facebook account as he called the attention of Globe Telecom. He advised the company to replace those who handled its official Facebook page over agents’ inconsistency with its statements.
According to him, he noticed that Globe’s former statement indicated that the said report from broadcast networks wasn’t true, yet its latter statement mentioned that the company admitted that the said location, which was a part of the country’s territories in the West Philippine Sea that was being claimed by China, was “an area that was reachable by the signal from other nearby countries.
Keneth also said that Globe Telecom was telling that ABS-CBN lied in its report. Moreover, he also compared Globe Telecom to Smart in terms of responding to a report from the media.
