Manny Pacquiao hasn’t given MPBL employees’ salaries?
Employees of Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL), launched by Senator Manny Pacquiao, allegedly haven’t received their salaries for three months.
MPBL is a semi-professional basketball league that caters more on basketball teams from the Visayas and Mindanao regions. It was launched in 2017 and from that the league has already conducted games in various venues.
On the other hand, just like any other leagues in the Philippines and other countries, MPBL also needed to take a halt amid the COVID-19 pandemic. In line with this, employees of the league also experienced financial problems, based on the article from Pilipino Star Ngayon.
It was said that they haven’t received their salaries.
The source added that the employees of the basketball league did not receive any “ayuda” from Senator Manny Pacquiao. What is more painful to them, according to the source, is when they saw the boxer-politician on TV giving assistance to others amid the pandemic but their financial needs haven’t been addressed.
“Kahit anong ayuda, hindi niya binigyan ang mga empleyado niya, suweldo na nga nilang delayed na delayed na, hindi pa rin nila nakuha!” the source also said.
The source also criticized the remark of some people saying that the Senator is fit to run for the presidency because of the help he extends to the poor, based on the article.
