Coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached over 26,000, according to DOH.
The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported that the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in the Philippines already reached over 26,000.
This, as the Department of Health reported 490 new COVID-19 cases wherein 348 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 142 were classified as “late” cases. This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 26,420 as of 4:00 p.m. of June 15, 2020.
For “fresh” cases, 131 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 79 were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 138 came from different areas in the Philippines. On the other hand, for the “late” cases, 21 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, five were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 116 were from different areas in the Philippines.
According to the Department of Health, the fresh cases recorded on Saturday were based on its test results released to patients within the last three days, while the late cases recorded were based on the test results released to patients four days ago or more.
Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 298 additional recoveries and 10 new fatalities due to COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 6,252 and total fatalities to 1,098.
Moreover, the Department of Health also reported 18,888 total active cases as of June 14, 2020, wherein 398 patients were asymptomatic, 18,412 patients were in mild condition, 61 patients were in severe condition, and 17 patients were in critical condition.
