Coronavirus Cases In The Philippines Now Over 25,000

Coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached over 25,000, according to DOH.

The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday reported that the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in the Philippines already reached over 25,000.

This, as the Department of Health reported 607 new COVID-19 cases wherein 504 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 103 were classified as “late” cases. This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 25,392 as of 4:00 p.m. of June 13, 2020.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 252 additional recoveries and 22 new fatalities due to COVID-19. This brought the total number of recoveries to 5,706 and total fatalities to 1,074.

For “fresh” cases, 246 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 85 were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 173 came from different areas in the Philippines. On the other hand, for the “late” cases, 42 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila and the remaining 61 were from different areas in the Philippines.

According to the Department of Health, the fresh cases recorded on Saturday were based on its test results released to patients within the last three days, while the late cases recorded were based on the test results released to patients four days ago or more.

The Department of Health also reported 18,281 total active cases as of June 12, 2020, wherein 608 patients were asymptomatic, 17,589 patients were in mild condition, 67 patients were in severe condition, and 17 patients were in critical condition.
