Coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached over 24,000, according to DOH.
The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday reported that the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in the Philippines already reached over 24,000.
This, as the Department of Health reported 443 new COVID-19 cases wherein 253 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 190 were classified as “late” cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 24,175 as of 4:00 p.m. of June 11, 2020.
For “fresh” cases, 35 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 66 were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 152 came from different areas in the Philippines. On the other hand, for the “late” cases, 48 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, six were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 136 were from different areas in the Philippines.
According to the Department of Health, the fresh cases recorded on Thursday were based on its test results released to patients within the last three days, while the late cases recorded were based on the test results released to patients four days ago or more.
Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 270 additional recoveries and nine new fatalities due to COVID-19. This brought the total number of recoveries to 5,165 and total fatalities to 1,036.
The Department of Health also reported 17,810 total active cases as of June 10, 2020, wherein 792 patients were asymptomatic, 16,946 patients were in mild condition, 55 patients were in severe condition, and 17 patients were in critical condition.
