Back Riders without helmets were seen on streets of Manila despite government’s ban on back-riding on motorcycles
Some back riders who had no helmet were spotted on the streets of Metro Manila despite the national government’s ban on back-riding on motorcycles.
The Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases strictly prohibiting the back-riding on motorcycles in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Previously, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año said that back-riding on motorcycles was “still prohibited” despite that the national government eased the community quarantine measures since June 1, 2020. According to him, back-riding on motorcycles was a “major violation” of health protocols in the country as physical distancing couldn’t be observed.
Yet some violators opted to violate the directive while plying the streets of Manila. In a report on DZBB Super Radyo, violators were spotted in the streets of Tondo in Manila.

Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno already assigned the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau to call the attention of those violators who were traveling the streets of Manila.
