Xiaomi fans expressed their frustrations after Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun allegedly posted on Weibo using his iPhone.
A certain post from Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun caught the attention of Xiaomi fans as he posted on Weibo, a Twitter-like website used in China, using his iPhone.
This, as Lei Jun, the chief executive of Xiaomi, posted a photo of books on his official Weibo account encouraging Xiaomi fans to buy books.
Just like Twitter, Weibo can detect on what device did users used when posting a photo or a status. Previously, as reported by GizGuide, Weibo has this feature that can detect even an unreleased smartphone devices.
In this case, Lei Jun allegedly forgot that he used iPhone as he posted on Weibo using his account. As a result, Xiaomi fans were upset and posted on social media to express their frustrations.
Following his post, Lei Jun deleted his post and reposted it using his Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro.
As per the report, Pan Jiutang defended Lei Jun as he posted his comment on Weibo, saying that it was a “hypocritical” not to have tried other phones from competing brands as innovations were “copied and then improved upon”.
This was not the first time that a chief executive of a Chinese tech brand was found publically using iPhones. Even Richard Yu, the chief executive of Huawei, and Madhav Sheth, the chief executive of realme, were spotted using iPhones.
