Philippines’ Own BL Series already In The Works, According To Director Eduardo Roy Jr.
Twitter users were surprised when the director teased the viewers about the upcoming iWant series as the country’s own BL series was already in the works.
This, after Eduardo Roy Jr., the director of the country’s own BL series, posted screen-captured photos of his upcoming series on his Twitter account. Starring Alex Diaz, Barbie Imperial, and Kokoy De Santos, the upcoming iWant series “Oh, Mando” was currently in the works.
The said project came as Filipino viewers have gone crazy over Thailand’s BL (Boy’s Love) stories during the quarantine period — such as 2gether: The Series and TharnType: The Series — and Japan’s Yaoi anime series.
As per the report, the release date of the said series has yet to be announced due to the community quarantine measures.
About Oh, Mando
The director himself revealed more information about his upcoming series.
In an interview with StarStudio, Eduardo Roy Jr. said that the said series was all about the story of Mando — his exploration of his identity as a gay man and his quest for love. He also said that this series has something to offer to the viewers, saying that the entire scene was “very Pinoy”.
“Pinoy ang sensibilidad nito na unique at wala sa ibang BL series,’ he said.
The director of the said series also shared that they still have a few more taping days, adding that they will work on the post-production of the said series after the taping. He admitted that he was excited to share it to Filipino viewers who were fond of watching BL series.
