PHAPi Sends Letter To Duterte, Asks To Remove Duque From His Position

The Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PHAPi) was requesting to remove Francisco Duque III from his current position.

The Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PHAPi) on Monday sent a letter to President Rodrigo Duterte, requesting to remove Francisco Duque III from his current position.

This, as Rustico Jimenez, the President of the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines, Inc., said that Duque was seemed to be “already exhausted” considering that he was the Secretary of the Department of Health and the Chairman of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation.

In a letter sent to President Duterte on Monday, Jimenez said that the members of the association felt that they already had enough of PhilHealth’s and DOH’s promises.

Jimenez mentioned that PHAPi members were given the run around by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation when asked about the Interim Reimbursement Mechanism (IRM). Also, Jimenez said that some were “financially drained” as they were still waiting for the promised Interim Reimbursement Mechanism, while others already received their share.

With this, Jimenez said that the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines, Inc. was respectfully requesting for the replacement of Francisco Duque III as the Secretary of the Department of Health (DOH) and the Chairman of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), adding that the national government would appoint someone who could deliver the goods better in addressing the country’s health concerns.
