Huawei India And Other Huawei Branches Were Added To The United States Entity List

The United States Department of Commerce reportedly Huawei India and other Huawei branches to the US Entity List amid the Huawei Ban.

This, after US President Donald Trump stopped supplying chip orders from TSMC to Huawei as well as extending the trade an on Huawei until May 2021 despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that affects both China and the United States.

The United States often accused Huawei Technologies of allegedly spying the US and of being a front for the Chinese government, although Huawei and the Chinese government denied the accusations. As of this writing, Huawei Technologies and its branches, including Huawei India, were included in the Entity List of the United States.

As per the report, the US State Department said that they took part for more than a year in order to share what they knew about Huawei Technologies and other “untrustworthy vendors with allies and partners” globally, as such, the United States was effectively cutting off any “loopholes” that Huawei Technologies was using in order to make use of US technology and threaten national security.

About the Entity List

The Entity List was a “blacklist” that would prohibit organizations or companies found in the said list from interacting with US-based companies. In this case, Huawei Technologies was “an untrustworthy vendor”, according to the United States.
