In a video from an Italian news site La Stampa, Andrea Bocelli, a 61-year-old Italian singer-songwriter, spoke to journalists outside the hospital as he revealed that he and his family had experience having a coronavirus disease.
As translated in English, Andrea said that having a coronavirus was “a tragedy” as his family was contaminated, adding that he and his family had symptoms such as “fever — though thankfully not high ones — with sneezing and coughing”.
Andrea also revealed that he previously had tested positive with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), as such, he decided to cancel his scheduled concerts which he described as “a nightmare” just because he felt like he was “no longer in control of things”.
In a report on La Stampa, Andrea had tested positive for coronavirus disease last March.
Last April 12, Andrea performed an almost 25-minute “Music For Hope: Live From Duomo Di Milano” performance inside the Milan Cathedral. His performance reached over 28 million views within 24 hours of its release.
As per the report, Andrea Bocelli became one of the celebrities who had tested positive with the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 along with Tom Hanks, Idris Elba, and Kevin Durant.
