LG Electronics officially revealed its new smartphone brand, the LG Velvet, that featured its unique “raindrop” camera module and symmetrical form factor.
This, as LG Electronics, in a press release, said that this could be the company’s first device to implement its branding strategy — avoiding the alphanumeric product line — in order for its customers to capture the nature of the device that would suit to their personality.
According to LG Electronics, the word “Velvet” was intended to call up to its two key characteristics — the lustrous smoothness and premium softness — of its new smartphone.
LG Mobile Communications Company Senior Vice President of Product Strategy Chang Ma said in a press release that the company,s new branding would reflect the recent trend in addressing the unique preference of its customers “with a greater emphasis” on its form factor.
