Bacordo and Gapay discussed matters pertaining to Navy’s transport of Army capabilities and forces in order to deliver their timely support to various Army units located at the far islands of the Philippines. Also, together with other senior officers of PA and PN, they discussed their possible joint exercises that would equip the forces in addressing future threats, with one of them suggested an idea of “ship to shore training” wherein “instead of simply transporting the troops, they will undergo training while onboard and upon landing, they will perform exercises like island retaking.

Both Gapay and Bacordo extended their gratitude for the cooperation. Philippine Army commander Lt. Gen. Gilbert Gapay said that PA and PN will continue their interoperability in terms of their continuous training in order “to address future threats that hamper the peace and progress of our nation,” adding that PA and PN “will be able to accomplish our mission of protecting the country.”
