4 New Coronavirus Cases Recorded in Marikina City, Mayor Teodoro Confirms
MARIKINA CITY – Mayor Marcelino Teodoro announced that four (4) new cases of coronavirus were recently recorded in the city.
Marikina is one of the cities that previously confirmed a case of the 2019 novel coronavirus. In the Philippines, there are 33 confirmed cases of the disease as per the announcement of the Department of Health (DOH).
Out of the 33 cases, one became the first coronavirus death case outside China, the epicenter of the disease. A 44-year-old Chinese man who tested positive for COVID-19 was treated at San Lazaro Hospital but passed away during the treatment.
30 patients of coronavirus are now treated in the different hospitals in the Philippines. One of them is an American citizen in Marikina City.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Marikina City recently confirmed four (3) new cases of coronavirus in the city. According to Mayor Marcelino Teodoro, the four (4) new patients lived with the American citizen who tested positive for the disease.
The said four (4) patients including the 82-year-old wife of the American citizen are now confined in a hospital according to Mayor Teodoro. Based on the report, four (4) other people in their house are being quarantined now.
The American citizen, a former member of the US military, is now in a critical condition. It was in February 19 when he arrived in the Philippines passing South Korea.
