In 1987, she took a break from showbiz because of her frustration. She invested as a producer of the movie Diary of Vietnam Rose which was not finished.  “I sank into that project the money I saved from starring in more than 80 movies that I did in six years. I had a friend who invested in the project which was never finished,” she said in an interview with Ricky Lo back in 2017.

During that devastating time, a good thing happened to Liz when she met her husband Benny Kho. They are married for 20 and blessed with 4 children. Liz is so proud to share during an interview with Abante’s Celebrity Talk in 2019 that three of her children are already professionals. Her youngest son was still studying marketing at that time.
