IRELAND – The country confirmed nearly 200 cases of coronavirus in just 24 hours amid the lockdown.

Due to the impact of the 2019 novel coronavirus, officially called as COVID-19, several countries imposed a lockdown. Ireland is one of these nations.

The said lockdown is implemented to curb the spread of the disease. Movements of the people must be limited as the infection can spread rapidly in a crowd.

Containing the spread of coronavirus is really a tough battle. Based on a report on Al Jazeera, amid the lockdown in Ireland, the country confirmed nearly 200 cases in just 24 hours.

From 366, the total confirmed case in the country now is 557 as confirmed by its health department. Based on the report, the number is still within what the authorities have expected.

“In broad terms, the total number of cases is not out of line with what we have predicted for the course of the week,” Tony Holohan, the chief medical officer of the country, said in a press conference.
