Update on Total Coronavirus Cases in PH Now As to DOH
DOH – The Department of Health gave an update on the total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines now.
The Philippines is one of the countries fighting against the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus now. Officially called as COVID-19, this disease was first recorded in China.
The 2019 coronavirus first emerged in Wuhan, a city in China’s Hubei province. It made an outbreak prompting the authorities to put the city under a lockdown.
More than 70,000 were infected by the disease in China. Globally, over 170,000 people were infected across the globe. More than six (6) thousand deaths were recorded.
In the Philippines, the authorities are now on a maximum effort in the pursuit to prevent a coronavirus outbreak in the country. The government is seeking the help and cooperation of the citizens.
According to the Department of Health (DOH), there are 142 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Philippines as of this writing. Out of the number, twelve (12) deaths were recorded.
Several persons are under monitoring now in the different areas across the nation. There are also patients under investigations (PUI) over a contact with COVID-19 patients.
