Crimes involving Chinese nationals in PH were described as “isolated incidents”, according to the Chinese Embassy in Manila.
The Chinese Embassy in Manila on Wednesday described illegal and criminal cases involving Chinese nationals in the Philippines as “isolated incidents”.
This, as the embassy on Wednesday, March 4, said in a statement that the Chinese government attached “great importance to combat all kinds of illegal and criminal activities,” adding that the government has been in close cooperation with relevant agencies in the Philippines.
In a statement, the Chinese Embassy “has always been committed to safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens in the Philippines” as well as providing consular service and protection for the Chinese nationals, adding that it was willing to continue “to strengthen communication and cooperation with the Philippine side in this regard.”
The statement from the Embassy came following the reports that Chinese nationals were allegedly associated with various crimes in the Philippines, thus, it said that it opposed “any irresponsible remarks based on fake news and condemns any groundless allegations against China out of ulterior political motives”.
Citing the cases as “isolated”, the embassy also said that these should not represent the whole picture of China-Philippines relations.
