Passengers Wait To Leave Japan Cruise Ship

Anxious passengers will have to wait for several days before leaving the cruise ship.

Several passengers who underwent 14-day quarantine aboard a cruise ship in Japan were set to leave on Wednesday if passengers have tested negative for the 2019 novel coronavirus, named COVID-19.

This, as the Diamond Princess cruise ship anchored in Yokohama, Japan, has proved a fertile breeding ground for the 2019 novel coronavirus, named COVID-19, with at least 542 confirmed cases.

In a letter, Japanese officials told passengers of Diamond Princess cruise ship that if a person and his/her roommate were both tested negative and have no fever or respiratory symptoms, they will be able to prepare for leaving the cruise ship. Japanese officials added that it would take three days to process all passengers.

Matt Smith, a US lawyer, said in an interview with AFP News that passengers felt “anxious” as they’re “holding off any celebration yet.”
