Pinoy Under Investigation in Negros Oriental Vs. Coronavirus
NEGROS ORIENTAL – The province recorded a new possible case of the 2019 novel coronavirus.
One of the countries with a huge number of people under monitoring and investigation for possible novel coronavirus case is the Philippines. In the country, three (3) confirmed cases were recorded.
All the confirmed patients of coronavirus are Chinese who came from China. The first and the second patients are a couple from Wuhan but they arrived in PH from Hong Kong.
The Chinese man passed away a few days after they were admitted at San Lazaro Hospital in Manila. He was the first person to die of coronavirus outside China.
Several provinces in the Philippines recorded patients under investigation (PUIs) for possible coronavirus cases. These people were closely monitored as part of curbing the spread of the virus.
One of the provinces that recorded PUIs is Negros Oriental. Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, the province has a new possible case of nCoV.
The patient is a Filipino from Hong Kong who is now at the provincial hospital. The patient has cough which is one of the symptoms of coronavirus.
Based on the report, the Pinoy from Hong Kong is currently the only patient monitored by the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (PESU). Yesterday, eight (8) PUIs in Negros Oriental were released following negative results over coronavirus.
The PESU medical staff are set to take the nasopharyngeal secretion or NPS of the patient and send it to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) for the checking. Reportedly, aside from the only PUI now, there are four (4) people under monitoring in the province. They came from Taiwan.
