The OPPO patent, which was found in the database of China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), revealed the first look at a side-mounted pop-up camera on OPPO’s future smartphone releases.
This, after China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) posted photos of its patent on their site Friday. It’s far different from the usual pop-up cameras on top of smartphones.
This patent was invented by Lin Yuxian and patented by OPPO Guangdong Mobile Communication Co., Ltd. under the agency of Guangzhou Huajin United Patent & Trademark Agency Co., Ltd.
The said patent also revealed other details and features about the phone with a side-mounted camera. This includes a USB Type-C port and a headphone jack.
Though this was only a patent, OPPO has not yet announced that the company will produce a phone with these features in the near future.
