On Sunday afternoon (US time), the world of sports and those who love basketball were shocked when news about a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California circulated. Among the passengers who died in the said accident was Kobe and his daughter Gianna.
Based on a report from the New York Times, nine people died in the crash. One of them was a college baseball coach, John Altobelli. Alex Villanueva, the Los Angeles County sheriff, confirmed that the pilot also died. Initially, it was hard to identify first how many passengers were there. As the investigation continues, authorities are sharing more information.
Los Angeles County fire chief Daryl Osby said that the crash site was difficult to access and that firefighters had to hike to the area. However, authorities refused to reveal where the helicopter was heading, based on the report.
