A netizen shared her invention on social media as she created a do-it-yourself (DIY) mixer using only an unused fan and a metal fork.
This, as Antonette Canillada Antonio posted a video on Facebook on how her DIY mixer would work.
The Philippines implemented quarantine measures — the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in high-risk areas and general community quarantine (GCQ) in areas not included in the ECQ — in order to prevent the further spread of coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19. With this, the national government urged the public to stay home while waiting for the vaccine antiviral drug to arrive in the Philippines.
Quarantine measures taught Filipino citizens on how to show off their hidden capabilities and talents while staying at their own houses. One of which was Antonette Canillada Antonio, who made her own DIY mixer.
In her Facebook post, she was about to make ice cream, and yet she doesn’t have a mixer at that time. She didn’t know where to borrow a mixer until she saw an unused electric fan.
As per the video, she replaced the unused electric fan’s blades with metal forks. She tested out her invention — and it worked!

Although she admitted that it was her first time to do this DIY mixer, she wanted to improve it by enhancing the mixer’s speed. Nevertheless, her invention was successfully functioning.
