Vice President Leni Robredo said that helping typhoon victims wasn’t about politics.
LENI ROBREDO — The incumbent Vice President and presidential aspirant said that helping typhoon victims wasn’t about politics.
On Tuesday, the Vice President maintained that she had no agenda in extending help to victims of typhoon “Odette”. Robredo said that there should be no politics when it comes to helping people ravaged by calamities.
According to her, she’s always grateful when people appreciated the help they provided because they didn’t have any other agenda but to help the people.
“Kaya parati po akong, parati akong grateful pag naa-appreciate ‘yung tulong na binibigay natin kasi wala naman po tayong ibang agenda kundi makatulong sa mga kababayan natin,” Robredo told the media in Himamaylan, Negros Occidental.

Robredo’s statement came after she was asked about President Rodrigo Duterte’s alleged “good words” for her, although Manila Bulletin reported that this was proven “fake news” by various sources on social media.
According to a report on Manila Bulletin, the fake quote card showed President Duterte thanking the Office of the Vice President (OVP) for setting aside politics and helping Filipinos in Mindanao and the Visayas.
The Vice President was in Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental in order to visit the province and to also provide relief assistance to the typhoon victims as well.
“Lagi ko naman pong inuulit na pag panahon ng sakuna dapat nase-set aside namin ‘yung political differences kasi nasa pagtutulong-tulungan lang naman na makakatulong kami nang lalong-lalo sa ating mga kababayan,” Robredo said.
