Sharing videos and photos of himself at the hospital, Gab said that he’s now a pre-diabetic and it’s important for him to not just take care of his mental health but also his physical health as well.

According to Gab, major changes will be made to better himself in every aspect of his life.

This weekend put a lot of things into perspective for me. Gave me time to think about where I am in my life and what kind of adjustments I needed to make to be the best I can be moving forward,” Gab wrote.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defined prediabetes as a serious health condition in which blood sugar levels were elevated but not high enough to be classified as type 2 diabetes.

It’s caused when the body’s cells don’t normally respond to insulin and the pancreas created more insulin to try to get cells to respond.

Eventually your pancreas can’t keep up, and your blood sugar rises, setting the stage for prediabetes—and type 2 diabetes down the road,” the CDC said.

Those patients who have prediabetes were more likely to develop type 2 diabetes, stroke, and heart disease. Symptoms include being 45 years or older, being overweight, or having a parent, sister, or brother with type 2 diabetes.

It’s no secret that Gab’s father had been battling Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes since he’s 14 years old.

In 2005, Gary almost went into a coma after having a hypoglycemic attack during a show. The veteran entertainer also underwent an emergency open-heart surgery in 2018 after a series of tests revealed that his left anterior descending artery was blocked due to diabetes.

Gab, in his post, also thanked his nurses and doctors, as well as his family and loved ones who prayed and wished for his well-being.

I am looking forward to a stronger Gab. A better, wiser and more empathetic Gab. We should all strive for a better ‘us’. We owe it to ourselves to be the person God intended us to be. Whatever and whoever that person will be, will change the world in their own special way,” Gab said.
