Selena graced the April 2021 cover of Vogue magazine wherein she recently opened up about potentially retiring from her musical career.
During her cover story interview, which was published online last March 9, 2021, Selena told Vogue that it’s hard for her to keep doing music when her listeners didn’t necessarily take her seriously.
“I’ve had moments where I’ve been like, ‘What’s the point? Why do I keep doing this?’ ‘Lose You to Love Me’ I felt was the best song I’ve ever released, and for some people it still wasn’t enough,” Selena said.

According to her, she thought there were a lot of people who enjoyed her music and she’s thankful for that. However, she said that she thought the next time she did an album, it would be different as she wanted to “give it one last try before I maybe retire music.”
Selena’s “Lose You to Love Me,” the lead single from her third studio album “Rare”, was her first and only No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 wherein she had been notching hits for an entire decade prior to reaching the milestone.
While her fourth album might be Selena’s “one last try” before seriously considering retirement, her supporters and fans had her seven-track Spanish-language EP “Revelación” to look forward to on March 12, 2021.
