Mindanao Bags 11 Awards In 45th MMFF Gabi Ng Parangal

Brillante Mendoza’s film Mindanao bagged 11 awards at the 45th Metro Manila Film Festival Gabi ng Parangal last Friday, December 27.

Brillante Mendoza’s film Mindanao received the following awards: Best Picture, Best Float, Gender Sensitivity Award, Best Sound, Best Visual Effects, Gatpuno Antonio J. Villegas Cultural Award, and FPJ Memorial Award for Excellence.

Artists who starred in the said movie also won at the MMFF Gabi ng Parangal: Yuna Tangog as Best Child Performer, Allen Dizon as Best Actor, and Judy Ann Santos as Best Actress. Also, Brillante Mendoza also won as Best Director.

Aside from Mindanao, Write About Love and Sunod also bagged several awards. Write About Love garnered nine awards, while Sunod received three awards.

Write About Love received the following awards: Second Best Picture, Jerrold Tarog as Best Musical Score, “Ikaw ang Akin” as Best Original Song, Vanessa de Leon as Best Editor, Joem Bascon as Best Supporting Actor, Yeng Constantino as Best Supporting Actress, and Crisanto Aquino for Best Screenplay and Special Jury Prize for Full-Length Film.

Sunod received the following awards: Third Best Picture, Best Production Design, and Myko David as Best Cinematography

Also, Culion received an award for Best Performance by an Ensemble.

Meanwhile, Aga Muhlach and Carmina Villaroel were named Male and Female Star Of The Night at the 45th Metro Manila Film Festival Gabi ng Parangal.
