Huawei was set to launch Mate40 Series on October 22, 2020
Huawei had officially announced the launch date for its upcoming Mate series smartphones named as HUAWEI Mate40 series.
This, as HUAWEI Mate40 series smartphones would be officially revealed on October 22 at 2:00 p.m. CEST (8:00 p.m. PH time).

The HUAWEI Mate40 series had been rumored for months and Huawei Technologies was expected to launch four models during the said event:
- HUAWEI Mate40
- HUAWEI Mate40 Pro
- HUAWEI Mate40 Pro+
- PORSCHE DESIGN HUAWEI Mate40 RS
These smartphones were reported to be powered by 5nm HiSilicon Kirin chipset, as such, the slogan for the HUAWEI Mate40 series was “Leap Further Ahead”.
According to numerous leaks and rumors, these smartphones were expected to sport a similar display design as the HUAWEI P40 Pro series.
This means that these smartphones would come equipped with a curved OLED display possessing a pill-shaped cutout for selfie camera and also a TOF 3D sensor for face unlock as well.

In addition, as per 3C and an EMUI 11 promotional video, the HUAWEI Mate40 series (at least the Pro models) would support 66W HUAWEI SuperCharge fast charging technology.
Also, Gizmochina reported that the standard HUAWEI Mate40 may ship with EMUI 10.1 mobile operating system instead of the latest version.
As per the report, the high-end models may also come with a “liquid lens” camera module for better stabilization and faster autofocus.
