Cabral was with her driver in the last few hours of her life. According to her driver, Ricardo Hernandez, they drove from Manila to Benguet to distress. He further claimed that they stopped at the Kennon Road in the morning of December 18 but they left after the cops told them to.

Hernandez said they allegedly went to Baguio to eat and they checked in at a hotel. According to him, at 2:30 p.m., former DPWH Undersecretary Cathy Cabral asked him that they will go back to the Kennon Road. She allegedly asked her driver to leave her at the Kennon Road and just fetch her after a while.

However, according to the driver, he could not find her when he returned to the area. He claimed that he asked from the people in the area and he also returned to check if she was already at the hotel before he reported to the police authorities that she’s missing. On the same night, her body was found unconscious and unresponsive.

Recently, the Philippine National Police spoke on former DPWH Usec. Cathy Cabral’s autopsy report as well as 3D scan findings. Based on a report on GMA News, PNP Forensic Group officer-in-charge Police Colonel Pierre Paul Carpio revealed the distance of Cabral’s body from the ravine.

“Makikita n’yo na ang layo ng katawan ng victim o cadaver ay around only 0.2 (meter) from the base of the ravine. Kung tinulak ito, chances are lalayo pa siya roon,” he said.

The PNP Forensic Group Officer-in-Charge also stressed the scratches in the hands and back of the former DPWH Usec. According to him, there is a huge chance that she supposedly slid off.

“Makikita n’yo rito na ang kamay ay may gasgas dito, pati likod. Ang laki ng probabilidad na nagpadausdos talaga siya,” Carpio said.

Furthermore, based on the report, the PNP also said that former DPWH Usec. Cathy Cabral’s autopsy report stated that she died of blunt traumatic injuries to the head, trunk, and left upper and lower extremities. The fingerprint examination, histopathology exam, and DNA examination were also conducted on the former DPWH official.
