REQUIREMENTS FOR SSS CALAMITY LOAN 2026 – Here are the eligibility criteria that a member should meet to qualify for the offer of the Social Security System.

The Philippines is prone to natural calamities. In fact, every year, the country is hit by several typhoons and some super typhoons. The country’s records hold details about the previous typhoons that cost hundreds of lives and countless homes. During times of natural disaster, the Social Security System is one of the state-run entities that provide options to the calamity victims.

Aside from the benefit offers that were crafted to help members in times of sickness, pregnancy, and disability among others, the Social Security System also has the SSS Calamity Loan offer that was designed to provide an access to cash for members who were affected by a natural disaster.

Also called the SSS Emergency Loan, the Calamity Loan offer is open for both salaried and non-salaried members of the social insurance giant who meet the requirements for the SSS Calamity Loan application. To be eligible to apply for the offer, here are the qualifications that a member-borrower should meet:

  • has no past due SSS Short-Term Member Loans
  • has at least six (6) posted monthly contributions under the current coverage/membership type prior to the month of loan application for Self-Employed, Voluntary (including Non-Working Spouse), and Overseas Filipino Worker (SE/VM/OFW) members who are land based
  • has no outstanding Loan Restructuring Program (LRP) or Calamity Loan Assistance Program (CLAP)
  • has at least thirty-six (36) monthly contributions, six (6) of which should be posted within the last twelve (12) months prior to the month of filing of application
  • member-borrower must be registered in the SSS Website (My.SSS facility) to facilitate filing of online application
  • a resident of the calamity declared areas and suffered damages/loss to their properties. A resident, for the purpose of CLAP, is one who has a home address or property at the calamity-stricken area
  • has not been granted any final benefit, i.e., permanent total disability or retirement

Aside from the above-mentioned requirements for the SSS Calamity Loan application, it is important to make sure that you have updated your contact information by logging in to your My.SSS account through the SSS website or mobile application or by submitting a properly filled out Member Data Change Request Form (E-4) to the nearest SSS Branch.

Furthermore, if you are a locally-employed individuals who has moved to a new workplace, your new employed should automatically deduct from your salary the corresponding amortization due, including any interest or penalty for late remittance. There are some SSS Calamity Loan requirements on the employers of locally-employed members.
