Former DPWH Usec. Maria Catalina Cabral Found Dead in Benguet
CABRAL – The alleged photo of the driver of the former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary with her prior to her death circulated online.
Former DPWH Usec. Maria Catalina Cabral was recently found dead due to an alleged fall from a cliff in Tuba, Benguet. The authorities recovered her body 20-30 meters near the Bued River. It was her driver, Cardo Hernandez, who reportedly told the police authorities that she’s missing.
According to Hernandez, he and the former DPWH Usec. went to Baguio from Manila to distress. He claimed that they were allegedly at the Kennon Road in the morning and they stopped for a while but the police authorities asked them to leave citing that it is an accident-prone area.
The driver of former DPWH Usec. Maria Catalina Cabral further claimed that they went straight to Baguio where they ate and checked in at a hotel. According to him, in the afternoon, the former DPWH Official asked him that they will return at the Kennon Road. They allegedly did and at around 2:30 p.m., the former Public Works Official supposedly told him to just leave her there for a while.
Cardo Hernandez claimed that he returned to fetch former DPWH Usec. Cathy Cabral after an hour but she was no longer there. According to him, he tried to look for her and even attempted to check her at the bottom of the click but he’s afraid that he might also fall. He also claimed that he allegedly asked the people around, too.
Hernandez claimed that he allegedly returned at the hotel to check if the former DPWH Usec. was there but there was negative presence so he reported to the police authorities. The remains of the former Public Works official was brought to a local funeral parlor.
The initial reports of the police stated that former DPWH Usec. Maria Catalina Cabral died due to an alleged fall. Amid the issue that is eliciting different suspicions and reactions, an alleged photo of the driver with the former DPWH Usec. taken prior to her death circulated on social media.
According to Jesus Falcis, the said alleged photo of Cabral and her driver was sent to him but it was unverified. Here’s his post:
