Statement of DILG Chief for Filipinos over Zaldy Co
DILG – Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla asked the Filipinos across the globe to post photos of Zaldy Co in case he will be spotted somewhere.
Amid the flood control mess in the Philippines, resigned Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co tagged President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez in the budget insertion issue as well as the supposed kickback system in the government. According to him, Marcos Jr. and Romualdez were the supposed masterminds in the P100-billion insertion in the 2025 national budget.

Co also claimed that the President and the former House Speaker allegedly received a P56-billion kickback all for themselves. According to him, he was supposedly told by Romualdez to stay out of the country “as instructed by the President”. He claimed that he was allegedly told that he will be taken cared of.

Amid the massive flood control corruption accusations against Zaldy Co and the calls for him to return to the country and face the allegations, he resigned from being a member of the House. The Palace claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos will not dignify the accusations of Zaldy Co against him.
Arrest warrants against some of the accused in the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption in the country were out and Zaldy Co is one of those who have an existing arrest warrant — the PNP even attempted to serve the arrest warrant at the residence of Co in Taguig but there was negative presence of the resigned House member.
Recently, DILG Sec. Jonvic Remulla made a request to the public over Zaldy Co. Based on a post of The Philippine Star on social media, the Interior Secretary asked the Filipinos across the globe to take a picture and report it to the government if they ever see the resigned House member somewhere.

“Nakikiusap kami sa lahat ng Pilipino sa buong mundo na kung makita nila si Zaldy Co, kung pwede nilang picture-an, padala kagad, post nila sa internet para may idea tayo kung nasaan siya,” the DILG Chief said.
According to Remulla, they suspect that Zaldy Co is allegedly in Portugal now. Based on the post, the resigned Ako Bicol Partylist Representative is suspected of having a Portuguese passport.
“He is a holder of 2 passports, not only a visa but also a passport so doon tayo may complication ng kaunti… Sa ngayon ang hinala namin ay nasa Portugal siya at doon siya naninirahan,” the DILG Secretary said.
Previously, following the allegations of the resigned House member against him, Marcos Jr. told Zaldy Co to return to the Philippines and face the accusations against him. He also stressed that he is in the country despite his corruption accusations against him.
