“Hanggang Sa Aking Kamatayan!” — Roque Declares Unbreakable Loyalty as ICC Pressure Mounts
HARRY ROQUE – Former Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque stirred national buzz after boldly declaring he would remain loyal to former President Rodrigo Duterte “hanggang sa aking kamatayan,” even as he faces a possible Interpol red notice.
Former Presidential Spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque remains firm in his loyalty to former President Rodrigo Duterte, even as he faces intensifying legal troubles in the Philippines and the looming issuance of a red notice from the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).
Roque has been vocal about his admiration for Duterte, whom he praised as the most exceptional leader the country has ever had. This declaration comes amid reports that the Philippine government has formally asked Interpol to issue a red notice—an international alert that functions similarly to an arrest warrant—against him. Roque is currently in The Netherlands, where he continues to show support for Duterte, who is detained at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The former presidential spokesperson is among those charged by the Pampanga Regional Trial Court last May in connection with the alleged qualified human trafficking operations tied to the POGO scam hub Lucky South 99 in Porac, Pampanga. He was indicted alongside Cassandra Ong and 48 others.
On his Facebook page, Roque condemned the Marcos administration’s pursuit of him, insisting it stems from his steadfast loyalty to Duterte. “Alam nila (Dutch government) kung bakit ako hinahabol ng gobyerno. Dahil alam nila ako talaga’y naging tapat kay [dating] Presidente Rodrigo Roa Duterte,” he wrote.
He further emphasized that he has no regrets about supporting Duterte, saying, “Hindi po ako nagsisisi hanggang aking kamatayan. Hindi ako nagsisisi kay Presidente Rodrigo Roa Duterte dahil ako tumatanaw po ako ng utang na loob, na ako’y binigyan ng pagkakataon ni tatay Digong na magsilbi sa bayan nang tapat. At ‘yan po ay aking ginawa.”
Harry Roque reiterated his belief that Duterte stands out among Philippine presidents, adding, “Uulitin ko po lahat ang aking ginawa, dahil naniniwala ako na si tatay Digong ang naging pinakamagaling na Presidente sa kasaysayan ng Pilipinas. I will not apologize for it, I will not regret it!”
As of now, Roque is seeking asylum in the Netherlands while his case related to alleged human trafficking linked to Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) remains pending.
