Statement of Palace on Sen. Imee Marcos’ Accusations vs. PBBM
Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro slammed Senator Imee Marcos over her alleged silence on the confidential funds issue against Vice President Sara Duterte.
Countless Filipinos were shocked when Sen. Imee Marcos spoke about the alleged illegal drug use of Pres. Bongbong Marcos at the rally organized by the Iglesia ni Cristo. According to the Senator, their family allegedly knows the supposed problem with her brother.

Sen. Imee Marcos called on Pres. Bongbong Marcos to stop and agree to be treated. She promised that she will be with him every step of the way. According to her, she cannot afford to lose him due to illegal drugs. She claimed that she can take him losing the presidency but not losing him to the illegal substance.

The Palace immediately debunked the accusations of Sen. Imee Marcos against Pres. Bongbong Marcos. According to Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro, the President has allegedly tested negative to drugs before his presidential run. She also claimed that resignation is not an option for him even after her allegations.
Malacañang also claimed that Sen. Imee Marcos allegedly wants Pres. Bongbong Marcos for her so-called “Team Itim”. The Palace stressed that the President continues to work and is brave to face the problems of the country.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Malacañang press officer Atty. Claire Castro slammed Sen. Imee Marcos over her silence on the confidential funds issue against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. The Senator visibly aligns herself with the Dutertes amid the political turmoil in the Philippine government now.
“Kitang-kita ninyo na ang Pangulo ang gusto niyang sirain pero ang pinuproteksiyunan niya ay iyong may issue tungkol sa korapsiyon na si Bise Presidente. Hindi man lang niya iningayan ang patungkol sa issue ng confidential funds, hindi rin niya iningayan ang pagpapadala sa dating Pangulong Duterte sa ICC,” the Palce official said.

Based on the report, Atty. Claire Castro called the accusations of Sen. Imee Marcos as allegedly a desperate move to ruin the reputation of Pres. Bongbong Marcos for her allies. According to her, the public can see where the Senator is going.
Aside from the illegal drug use allegations, the President is also faced with an issue of alleged corruption. Recently, Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson confirmed the P100 billion budget insertion but cleared the name of Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
