Malacañang on Imee Marcos Accusing PBBM of Allegedly Using Illegal Drugs: ‘Matanggal sa puwesto para i-angat ang kanyang ka-Team Itim’

Statement of Malacañang on Sen. Imee Marcos’ Illegal Drug Use Claim vs. PBBM

MALACAÑANG – The Palace once again spoke on the illegal drug use allegation of Senator Imee Marcos against her own brother, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Some government officials joined the rally organized by the Iglesia Ni Cristo members. One of the senators who joined the said action protest is Sen. Imee Marcos who spoke before the INC members. However, what the thousand of rallyists did not expect was the statement of the presidential sister that circled around her own brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos.

At the INC rally, Sen. Imee Marcos claimed that PBBM is allegedly using illegal drugs. According to her, he allegedly drinks and parties with his wife, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and their friends. She also claimed that their family is supposedly aware about the alleged problem with her brother. According to her, he was allegedly using illegal drugs already even when their father, the late former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr., was still alive.

Sen. Marcos claimed that her brother was not her responsibility then as their father was still alive. However, now that he’s gone, she’s calling on the President to stop and get some treatment. According to her, she can afford for him to no longer be the president but she cannot take to lose him in drugs. She vowed to be with her brother if he decides to go to treatment.

The claims of Sen. Imee Marcos shocked countless rallyists. While Pres. Bongbong Marcos remained mum, Malacañang was quick to defend Marcos Jr. Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro stressed that the President went through a drug testing prior to the presidential campaign in 2022 and tested negative.

Recently, Malacañang spoke anew on the illegal drug use accusation of Sen. Imee Marcos against Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Based on a report on GMA News, Atty. Claire Castro claimed that the Senator allegedly wants her brother to resign from being the president for the sake of her “Team Itim” fellow.

“Matanggal sa puwesto. Ano pa ba? Para i-angat ang kanyang ka-Team Itim. Yun lang naman yun e,” Castro told Dobol b TV.

Malacañang on Imee Marcos-Sara Duterte 'ITIM' ad

To recall, for the 2025 Midterm Elections, Sen. Imee Marcos previously released the “ITIM” campaign ad with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Then, the presidential sister left the slate of her brother, the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago, and her departure was followed by the Vice President endorsing her in different campaign sorties. Based on the report, when asked if she’s referring to the Vice President, Malacañang press officer Claire Castro pointed to the said campaign ad.

“Sino ba yung nasa campaign ads nila na Team Itim? Kung sino man ang kasama niya sa Team Itim, yun na yun,” she said.

Aside from Malacañang, some senators also spoke on the recent unexpected remarks of the presidential sister. Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson also broke his silence on the accusations of Sen. Imee Marcos versus Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
