After Sen. Imee Marcos Accused PBBM of Illegal Drug Use, Cong. Paolo Duterte Issues Statement
PAOLO DUTERTE – The Davao Congressman took to social media a statement for President Bongbong Marcos after Senator Imee Marcos’ accusations.
It’s been years now that Marcos Jr. is facing accusations of allegedly using illegal drugs. Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte who is currently detained under the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands is one of those who stand by the accusation. The current President has always been mum amid the allegations.
However, recently, it was presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos already who accused Pres. Bongbong Marcos of allegedly using illegal drugs. At the rally organized by the Iglesia ni Cristo, the Senator called on her brother to stop it and undergo treatment.
According to Sen. Imee Marcos, their family is allegedly aware about the supposed problem about Pres. Bongbong Marcos. She claimed that he was still not her responsibility then as their father, the late former dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr., was still around.
However, the Senator claimed that she became more concerned as the alleged illegal drug use of her brother continued. As she called on PBBM to go home and get some treatment, she claimed that she can afford for him to lose the presidency but she cannot afford to lose him.
The accusations of Sen. Imee Marcos against Pres. Bongbong Marcos earned different comments. Amid the political turmoil in the Philippine government, it is no secret to the public that the Senator has aligned herself with the Dutertes. Recently, Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte issued a statement.
In a post on social media, Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte stressed that if what Sen. Imee Marcos said is true, the Filipino people deserves not excuses but clarity. According to him, for years, they were on the frontline calling for a hair follicle drug testing among all officials of the government.
“Hindi ito bago. Hindi ito personal. Ito ay para sa transparency at integridad sa pamahalaan. Pero hanggang ngayon, may mga ayaw sumailalim. Bakit? Anong tinatago? Sino ang pinoprotektahan?” the Davao Congressman said.
According to Cong. Paolo Duterte, in front of the claim of the very own sister of Pres. Bongbong Marcos, their call for all officials of the government to undergo a drug testing strengthens. In his post, he stressed that there is no exemption and special treatment over the said call.
“The Filipino people deserve honesty. Kung malinis ka, patunayan mo. Kung hindi, huwag mong gawing tanga ang bayan. Buhay at kinabukasan ng ating mga anak ang nakasalalay dito,nararapat lang na tayo ay nakakasiguro na ang namumuno sa ating bayan ay may sapat na kakayahan at hindi mga bangag,” he stated
Amid the silence of his father, Ilocos Norte Cong. Sandro Marcos reacted to the claim of his aunt, Sen. Imee Marcos, that they are allegedly using illegal drugs.
