In his post, Mikael reflected on the unusual yet memorable experience. “Undergoing a medical operation for the first time was, admittedly a bit scary but I completely forgot that anesthesia can make you quite loopy. I had a 15 minute vlog with Bonez as I rambled on and I don’t remember any of it. Basta, si Kobe Bryant madalas nasa kwento ko daw,” he shared.

Fortunately, his recovery has been progressing well. “As for the operation, recovery has gone quite well. It took 2 weeks before I got my stitches removed and now, it’s all about slowly regaining the ability to walk. Can’t wait to play with Leon since he is starting to crawl and babble,” he added, expressing his eagerness to spend more time with his wife and their baby boy.

Earlier, Mikael revealed that the injury stemmed from a serious accident on the basketball court. “A few weeks ago, I ruptured my achilles tendon…possibly the scariest basketball related injury I could imagine. But at this point in my life, I guess we take whatever curveballs life throws at us. My first goal is just to get back to walking normally so I can help Mama Bonez take care of Leon. Then, over the long run, I can re-learn how to run and jump alongside my son. From what I’ve gathered, it’s going to be a very long road to recovery but I’m always up for a challenge. ps, moving around in crutches is tough,” he revealed.

Mikael’s openness and humor throughout his healing process have inspired his followers, showing that even daunting experiences can be met with positivity and resilience.
