Sen. Bato dela Rosa Dares Marcos Admin To Arrest Him
BATO DELA ROSA – The former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief-turned-Senator challenged the Marcos administration to arrest him if they allegedly want to do the same “very big mistake”.
Sen. Dela Rosa was the chief of the PNP during the Duterte drug war. Thus, he believes that he is allegedly the second in the list of the International Criminal Court (ICC) of the personalities to be arrested for the investigation.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously claimed that Sen. Bato dela Rosa is allegedly included on the ICC list of personalities who might be arrested. According to her, his name is ahead of hers in the alleged list. Since the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte last March 11, the former PNP chief-turned-Senator has changed his stance multiple times over the possible ICC arrest.

Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is currently detained under the custody of the ICC in The Hague, Netherlands. He is faced with accusation of crimes against humanity for his drug war. The former Chief Executive has repeatedly claimed that everything he did during his term was for the people and the country.

Recently, Lucas Bersamin, the executive secretary of Pres. Bongbong Marcos, claimed that Sen. Bato dela Rosa may be arrested if the ICC issues an arrest warrant against him. According to Marcos’ Executive Secretary, the government will have to act on the arrest if the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) seeks assistance.

Bersamin further stressed that if the Supreme Court orders the need for due process, then the government would have to afford it for him. The Executive Secretary stressed that Dela Rosa may face a similar fate with Duterte if there’s no SC order.
Recently, Sen. Bato dela Rosa spoke on the possible arrest following the statement of Executive Sec. Lucas Bersamin to Kyodo News. Based on a report on Inquirer, the former PNP chief-turned-Senator dared the Marcos administration to arrest him.
Sen. Bato dela Rosa claimed that what was done to former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was allegedly a big mistake. According to him, if the Marcos admin wants to do it again, then they can arrest him.
“If they want to make the same mistake again, then go ahead… What they did to President Duterte was a very big mistake, and if they’re willing to do the same mistake again, then they can do the same,” he said.
Based on the report, Dela Rosa was one of the 11 people who are alleged co-perpetrators of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte in drug war. Following Bersamin’s remarks, Malacañang claimed there’s no communication yet over a possible warrant of arrest against the former PNP chief.
Recently, Sen. Bato dela Rosa claimed that he will skip the 4th SONA of Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
