Former First Lady Imelda Marcos Turns 96, Pres. Bongbong Marcos Posts Photos w/ Mom
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President greeted his mother, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, on her 96th birthday today.
The Marcoses are among the most popular individuals in the Philippine political arena. Their patriarch, the late former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr., has served as the country’s president for more than 20 years. However, his regime remains controversial until now.

After several decades since Marcos Jr., was ousted through the EDSA People Power Revolution, his only son, now Pres. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., won the 2022 presidential elections. Under his lead, Pres. Bongbong Marcos vowed that the government will continue the war on drugs but in a “peaceful way”.

Marcos Jr. also revealed that he wants his administration to be remembered for the changes for the better after his term will end in 2028. Today, the mother of the Chief Executive and a former First Lady, Imelda Marcos, celebrates her birthday.
Former First Lady Imelda Marcos turned 96 today. On social media, Pres. Bongbong Marcos posted a collage photos of the former First Lady with him, his sons, and their family. In the caption, the President left a heart-melting note expressing his immense gratitude to his mother.
According to Pres. Marcos, the former First Lady’s strength, grace, and unwavering love continue to guide and inspire their family daily. Here’s the social media post of the President:
The wife of Pres. Bongbong Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, also took to her social media account a heartfelt birthday greeting for her mother-in-law. In her post, the First Lady told the former First Lady that her strength and elegance have touched so many lives.
First Lady Liza Marcos thanked former First Lady Imelda Marcos for her love and her quiet courage that she continues to share with their family. She expressed her wishes for her mother-in-law of endless joy and good health.
Currently, many people are in doubts over the relationship between the two (2) children of the former First Lady — Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Senator Imee Marcos. The public saw how the Marcos siblings differ on their stands over the controversial arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Sen. Marcos visibly sided with the Duterte family in the issue. She left the 2025 midterm elections senatorial slate endorsed by Pres. Marcos and was supported by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte in her bid for reelection.
Sen. Imee Marcos also mentioned the Dutertes in her proclamation speech but made no mention of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Then, she was accompanied by former First Lady Imelda Marcos and her sons.
