Senatorial Candidate Willie Revillame Asked about Take on Senator’s Job
WILLIE REVILLAME – The popular TV host who runs for senator insisted that the Philippines already has many existing laws.
Amid silently grieving over the passing of his mother, Willie is running for senator in the upcoming May 2025 Elections. He is an independent candidate and has conducted several campaign sorties in the different areas across the nation where he gave away tshirts and blue jackets.
Previously, Willie Revillame defended his not having a platform saying he has been helping poor Filipinos for 27 years now. He stressed that such act does not require a platform. He also called on the Filipinos to vote for people who can change their lives.
Willie Revillame is one of the most prominent game show hosts in the Philippine entertainment industry. He was the host of several popular big game shows bearing the names inspired by his — Wowowee, Wil to Win, Wowowin, Wil Time Bigtime, and many others.
In an interview with Gretchen Ho, Willie Revillame was asked what will happen to his shows in case he will win the elections. According to the senatorial candidate, he heard that the work in the Senate is three (3) days a week and he can still do his shows on the other days. He also cited the case of former Senator Tito Sotto.
“‘Di ba sa Senate what I heard is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, ‘di ba? So meron akong Thursday, Friday, Saturday sa show, like Senator Sotto. ‘Di ba may Eat Bulaga pa rin siya?” he said.
The host expressed that he still has to read some bills and if he will do shows on the other days, there might be days that he won’t be around. Willie stressed that there are already a lot of existing laws in the Philippines and he asked if those laws have changed the lives of the poor Filipinos.
“Alam mo ‘yung bills na ‘yan, ang dami ng batas na ginawa, eh. Nabago ba ‘yung buhay ng mahihirap?” Willie said
Based on the post, Gretchen Ho insisted that the duty of a senator is to a legislative work of drafting laws. Willie Revillame reiterated that there are already a lot of existing laws and the duty of a public servant is to do good to his fellowmen.
“Para saan? Para sa bansa? Eh, ang dami na ngang batas ang ginawa. Eh, ano bang trabaho natin? ‘Di ba dapat gumawa ng mabuti sa kapwa? Kaya ka nga public servant, eh,”
Recently, Willie Revillame stressed that if he wins as senator, he will draft laws for the poor Filipinos. According to him, there must be laws that look after the underprivileged citizens of the country.
