Kean Cipriano is mourning the unexpected passing of his beloved mother, Chona Cipriano. The OPM artist poured his heart out in an emotional tribute shared on Instagram on April 7, expressing the overwhelming grief he feels following her untimely death.
Although Cipriano chose not to disclose the exact cause of her passing, he opened up about the heartbreaking pain his mother endured in her final moments. “Napakasakit. Napakabilis ng mga pangyayare. Nakakatakot. Nakakayanig,” he wrote. “Napakasakit na makita kang nahihirapan. Hindi mo deserve yon. I’m so sorry you had to go through that pain.”
Despite the sorrow, the Callalily frontman finds solace in knowing that his mother is now free from suffering. “Alam kong nagpaparamdam ka sa mga kanta. Nararamdaman kita sa hangin,” he continued, adding how her love has enveloped their family in recent days.
In his heartfelt message, Cipriano thanked his mother for the love she gave throughout her life, cherishing the time they had together. “Sobrang wasak puso ko ngayon, Mommy. Hindi ko parin matanggap. Magsisimula ako na mabuhay ng wala ka. Ang bigat. Ang lungkot. Pero yung pagmamahal mo ang dadalhin ko para umusad.”
His wife, actress Chynna Ortaleza, also paid tribute to her late mother-in-law with a touching Instagram post. She shared photos of Chona with Cipriano’s late father, Edgie, and wrote, “Nagising ako na payapa. Pakiramdam na hindi mapagkakaila. ‘Wala ng problema.. Kami ay magkasama.’”
