According to former Pres. Bongbong Marcos, the Interpol Manila received an official copy of the International Criminal Court warrant against former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte hours before the former President arrived from Hong Kong. He stressed that it prompted the Prosecutor General of the Department of Justice to serve the warrant.

“We followed every single necessary procedure… We followed the legal procedure that is necessary,” the President said.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos stressed that the authorities implemented the arrest as the government is obliged to act on its commitment with the Interpol. He emphasized that it is not because the arrest came from the International Criminal Court.

”This is what the international community expects of us as the leader of a democratic country that is part of the community of nations,” Marcos Jr. said.

Prior to the former President being transported to Dubai en route to Netherlands, presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos said she’s shocked by the arrest of former Pres. Duterte.
