Vatican Releases Update on Pope Francis amid Continued Hospitalization

POPE FRANCIS – The Roman Pontiff experienced a breathing crisis and he had to be put on a non-invasive mechanical ventilation.

The Pope is on his 15th day of hospitalization in Gemelli hospital in Rome, Italy today. He was confined since February 14 and his health battle started with a bronchitis that led to double pneumonia. He experienced breathing difficulties and chest discomfort.

Pope Francis previously said that he felt a nearing end to his life. The Sovereign Pontiff told two (2) people close to him that he might “not make it this time”. It urged wake and funeral preparations to start in Vatican. Reportedly, the Swiss Guard was also placed under curfew over the possible demise of the Pope.

Amid his hospital confinement, on the 7th day, the clinical condition of the Pope improved. His fever was gone and his heart rate and blood pressure level were stable. Then, amid the slight improvements, his doctors said that he is still not out of danger.

A few days since slight improvements on the clinical condition of the Pope were noted he had a respiratory attack that left him in a critical state. It also required the transfusion of two (2) counts of blood. The prognosis of the Pope remained under a “guarded” state.

Recently, an unfortunate incident amid the health battle of Pope Francis took place. Based on the update posted by Vatican News, the Roman Pontiff experienced breathing crisis which led him to be put on a non-invasive mechanical ventilation.

The Holy See Press Office said that the Pope experienced “an isolated episode of bronchospasm”. It caused the Roman Pontiff to “an episode of vomiting and a sudden worsening of his respiratory condition”. Based on the post, he immediately had a bronchial aspiration to clear his airways.

According to the Holy See Press Office, Pope Francis was placed on a non-invasive mechanical ventilation amid the breathing crisis. His oxygen levels improved. Currently, there is an outpour of prayers from across the globe for the Pope.

Previously, two (2) officials in Vatican claimed that Pope Francis had a clash with some cardinals three (3) days prior to his hospitalization due to finance issues.
