The “Magpasikat” week is one of the most highly anticipated events for fans of “It’s Showtime,” where the hosts showcase their talents in a friendly competition. As part of the show’s 15th-anniversary celebration, the hosts undergo intensive preparations, with surprises expected at every turn.
Recently, hosts Kim Chiu and Darren Espanto had to be rushed to the hospital in the middle of their preparations for the upcoming “Magpasikat” performances. Both stars shared updates on their respective Instagram accounts following their hospital visits, giving their fans a glimpse of the situation.
Kim Chiu posted a photo of herself inside an ambulance, with only her legs visible in the frame. She kept her caption light, writing, “Magpasikat realness,” accompanied by a shy emoji. In another post, Kim shared a photo of her hand giving a thumbs-up while an IV was attached, reassuring her followers with the caption, “All good,” followed by praying hands and a red heart emoji.
Similarly, Darren Espanto took to Instagram to update his fans, posting a photo of himself giving a thumbs-up with a bandage on his hand. His caption humorously acknowledged his overexertion during rehearsals, saying, “Tinodo masiyado sa training for ‘Magpasikat’ 2024,” with a sweating emoji. The background of his photo revealed the word “radiology,” indicating that he was in a hospital or clinic.
Darren also reached out to his followers on X (formerly known as Twitter), asking for prayers for the “It’s Showtime” team as they continue to prepare for their big performances. He tweeted, “Waiting for my x-ray results! Ok naman po ako (I’m okay). Please continue to pray for all the hosts and the people behind ‘It’s Showtime’! We’re doing our best for y’all! Ilaban natin ‘to! (Let’s go on with this!)”
Neither Kim nor Darren disclosed the specific reasons behind their hospitalization, but their fans are hopeful for their speedy recovery.
