Tony Labrusca Joins Herlene Budol in New Kapuso Teleserye
TONY LABRUSCA – For the first time, former ABS-CBN actor Tony Labrusca will produce a teleserye on Kapuso network.
Comedian, TV personality, and former beauty queen Herlene Budol will make a comeback as the main character in GMA-7’s newest series, Binibining Marikit, after more than a year away from afternoon drama. Herlene won over many people with her charisma and humorous timing in her last teleserye, Magandang Dilag, which ran from June 26, 2023, until November 10, 2023.
Juan Caoile’s pandemic-hit song of the same name serves as the inspiration for the title of this new project, Binibining Marikit. Herlene will once again play a lead role in what promises to be an interesting and creative plot for afternoon drama.
The cast and crew of Binibining Marikit gathered at the GMA Network Studios in Quezon City on Friday afternoon, October 11, 2024, for the story conference. Several well-known celebrities attended the event, including Tony Labrusca, who is joining the series for the first time as an afternoon drama with the Kapuso network.
Tony, who was formerly well-known for his work on ABS-CBN shows, is making a big transfer to GMA and is anticipated to give the show more celebrity power.

Veteran and well-known actors who will all have significant roles in the series, including Pokwang, Cris Villanueva, Jeff Moses, Ashley Rivera, Thea Tolentino, Almira Muhlach, John Feir, and Miggs Almendras, were all in attendance at the story’s conference. It is anticipated that their combined skills will produce an engaging and dynamic ensemble cast.
Jorron Monroy, a seasoned filmmaker with a strong reputation within the Kapuso Network, will be directing the program. As a former director of Shining Inheritance and Abot-Kamay na Pangarap, Monroy is no stranger to directing high-profile afternoon dramas.
Binibining Marikit is predicted to be one of the most anticipated afternoon dramas of 2024 thanks to his experience and knowledge.
