PNP Chief Police Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. urged the public to visit cemeteries ahead of Undas 2022.
UNDAS 2022 — PNP Chief Police Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. urged the public to visit cemeteries, memorial parks, or columbaria in advance.
In an interview at the Manila North Cemetery on Friday, Azurin urged the public to go to cemeteries, columbaria, or memorial parks ahead of the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day on November 1 and 2 in order to avoid the influx of people.
He also said that the public may consider going to their departed loved ones this coming weekend instead of next week in order to keep away from the crowd.
Azurin made inspection sorties to different cemeteries across NCR as well as to mass transportation terminals hosting land, air, and sea travel in order to ensure the safety of the traveling public ahead of Undas.
Among them include Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), and NorthPort Passenger Terminal.

The PNP chief instructed police officers to deploy 85% of their total force on the field, particularly in NCR, for public safety and law enforcement duties.
“We really need to observe the health protocols being implemented by the IATF [Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases] to avoid the spread of Covid-19 because we still have cases,” Azurin said.
Azurin reminded the public to be mindful of weather condition, traffic routes, operating hours, and other environmental and situational factors when planning for different activities.
The PNP chief also advised the public to refrain from bringing illegal drugs, sharp objects, cigarette, liquor, and other prohibited items in cemeteries.
