WILLIE REVILLAME – Veteran TV host Willie Revillame’s recent on-air scolding on “Wilyonaryo” has set social media abuzz, prompting showbiz insider Ogie Diaz to finally share his honest take on the controversy.
Showbiz insider Ogie Diaz recently shared his thoughts and advice for Willie Revillame following the latter’s on-air reprimand on his new program, “Wilyonaryo.” The discussion arose after a clip of Willie scolding staff members circulated online, sparking mixed reactions from netizens.
During the latest episode of “Showbiz Updates,” aired on Friday, January 2, Ogie and his co-hosts discussed how viewers interpreted Willie’s behavior on the show. Some netizens speculated that the host’s stern attitude was intentional and meant to attract attention online.
“‘Yong iba iniisip na ‘yan, e. Na parang feeling ni Willie, ‘Dito ako naba-viral, a. Kaya maggagalit-galitan ako oncam,’” Ogie said, referring to claims that Willie might be acting angry on purpose to go viral.
However, Ogie clarified that Willie’s demeanor is not something new or staged. “Pero sa totoo lang,” he continued, “consistent naman si Willie do’n. Lagi siyang nagagalit ‘pag hindi nasusunod ang gusto niya.” According to Ogie, the host has long been known to be strict, especially when things do not go according to plan.
Despite this, Ogie pointed out that Willie should still exercise restraint, especially when the cameras are rolling. “Pangalawa, dapat daw hindi na pinapairal ni Willie ang init ng ulo oncam. Kasi siyempre, ang feeling ng mga tao, nagkakaroon ng impresyon na porke swelduhan sila, gaganunin mo sila on-air?” he explained, noting how such moments can leave a negative impression on viewers.
Ogie then advised Willie to work with people who already understand and match his working style. “Para alam nila ‘yong dynamics mo,” he said, “‘yong routine mo. Kasi ang hirap niyan na bago ‘yan sa paningin mo tapos magagalit ka. Tapos ‘pag ‘di nasunod [ang gusto mo] tatanggalin mo.”
He also remarked on Willie’s reputation for quickly dismissing staff members when conflicts arise. “E, ang bilis pang magtanggal ng tao ni Willie,” Ogie added.
The issue resurfaced after a video clip from December 2025 showed Willie calling out members of the “Wilyonaryo” staff, once again igniting public discussion about leadership, professionalism, and on-air conduct in the entertainment industry.
