Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Calls for Clear Direction, Unity in New Year Message to Filipinos
MARCOS JR. – The President gave a New Year message and greeting for the Filipino people expressing his call for direction and ‘continued unity’.
It was previously announced by Malacañang that Pres. Bongbong Marcos will spend his Christmas holidays reviewing the P6.7-trillion proposed budget for 2026. While it will be a working holiday for the Chief Executive, he did not let the important occasions pass without giving a message for the Filipino people.

On social media, Marcos Jr. shared a photo of him with his family — First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, their eldest son Ilocos Norte Congressman Sandro Marcos, and their two (2) other sons, Simon Joseph Marcos and William Vincent Marcos. Along with it is a heartfelt New Year message for the Filipino people.

According to Pres. Bongbong Marcos, the start of a new year is a time to reflect on our experiences and to continue with a clear direction and hope. The President believes that the Filipinos will achieve more if we stay united.
“Sa pagpasok ng 2026, panahon itong magnilay sa mga pinagdaanan natin at magpatuloy nang may malinaw na direksiyon at pag-asa. Marami pa tayong kayang marating kung mananatili tayong nagkakaisa. Ipagpapatuloy natin ang pagtatrabaho para sa isang mas maayos at makataong Bagong Pilipinas,” Marcos Jr. stated.

In a separate statement, Pres. Bongbong Marcos said that the new year is a moment to reflect and renew. Based on a report on PhilStar, he stressed that the celebration gives us the opportunity to look back on the lessons, challenges, and achievements of the previous year and to look forward with hope and purpose to the possibilities that may be waiting for us in this new year.
“Beyond personal resolutions, the new year calls on us to examine how we live with one another, how we lift one another, and how our choices shape our nation,” the President said.
Based on the report, Marcos Jr. urged the Filipino people to seize another year with confidence, discipline, and a shared commitment for the progress of the country. According to him, a society thrives when the people turn to empathy over indifference, service over self-interest, and hope over despair.
“It is thus our commitment in the government to be relentless in pursuing a Bagong Pilipinas that nurtures unity, fosters compassion, and showcases the greatness of our kababayans,” the President added.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos expressed his hope that we will move forward with a clear understanding of the roles of one another in each other’s lives and a renewed commitment to build a future shaped by the strength of our will and the clear view of our collective purpose. Previously, amid the massive corruption issues in the country, the Palace stressed that the flood control investigation does not end by December 25, 2025.
