ACT Teachers Partylist Representative Calls on ICI To Investigate Flood Control Projects in Cong. Paolo Duterte’s District
PAOLO DUTERTE – The Davao Congressman reacted to the call for the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) to investigate the flood control projects in his district.
Amid the calls for accountability, President Bongbong Marcos vowed that a “big fish” is allegedly one of those who will be jailed soon due to flood control corruption. Several officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and congressmen as well as some senators were implicated in the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption.

The flood control investigation is led by the ICI which was formed upon the order of Marcos Jr. The three-member body’s chairman is former Justice Andres Reyes Jr. The commission has already submitted reports to the Ombudsman for the filing of cases against some of the accused in the flood control mess.

Arrest warrants have been issued, too, against some of the accused in the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption. One of those who are faced with an arrest warrant is Zaldy Co, the resigned representative of Ako Bicol Partylist in the House of Representatives and the former chairman of the House Budget Appropriations Committee.
Recently, amid the ongoing flood control investigation in the country, ACT Teachers Partylist Rep. Antonio Tinio called on the ICI to investigate the supposed anomalies in the P4.4 billion flood control projects in Davao City. Recently, Davao 1st District Cong. Paolo Duterte reacted to the call for the flood control investigation in the city.

“Kung gusto ng iba ng publicity stunt, problema nila ‘yan. Ako, trabaho ang inaatupag,” the Davao Congressman said based on a post of News5 on social media.
Furthermore, based on the post, Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte asserted that it is the DPWH which designs, awards, and implements the flood control projects. According to him, he is not hiding anything and he is not running away from anything.
Cong. Paolo Duterte claimed that he is open for any flood control investigation in his district. He stressed that he is ready to submit all the documents that he has to the ICI.
Previously, Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte dared Pres. Bongbong Marcos to file charges against the congressmen who were linked to the flood control mess in the Philippines.
